MABEL BRAILSFORD. A wartime Journal 1941 to 1943
A journal of humour, gossip, culture, with first-hand descriptions of war-torn London.A fascinating, newly-discovered, journal kept by a published author documenting her life between 1941 and 1943. The journal described national events and personalities, war-damaged London, deprivations, personal gossip about friends and
neighbours, the problems of living with evacuees, as well as recording the people and events in Amersham, Buckinghamshire, at that time.
The journal was edited by Wendy Tibbitts who also researched and wrote Mabel Brailsford's biography and added a mini-bio for all the 150 people and places mentioned in the journal.
